The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) is leading a project to develop a roadmap to sustainability for New Zealand’s institutes of technology and polytechnics (ITPs). TEC have been meeting with all 16 ITPs and talking to governing councils, management, staff, students and the community about what they think will make the sector sustainable. If you’re not able to attend any of these meetings, please watch the video below. Amy Russell at the TEC gives an overview of what they’re looking for and how you can have your say.

We know that you are all extremely busy and that any time out is time that must be made up! However, we cannot stress enough how important it is that TEC gets to hear from you directly.

As you are aware, allied staff are often the first to be targeted in change initiatives and staffing reviews – it is also allied staff who will be implementing any decisions taken as a result of the ITP Roadmap 2020 project.

As allied staff, you have a unique perspective and it is important that it is heard.

For more background information about the project, read about the ITP Roadmap 2020 on TEC’s website.

Here is the link to the survey that the TEC are also running. The survey is short and anonymous and it closes on 24 August.
